About Us

“On behalf of the Monkseaton Middle School community, I am delighted to welcome you to our website. We are a small, inclusive and caring environment and we recognise that your child’s education is very special. Strong emphasis is placed on developing literacy and numeracy skills and we pride ourselves on our exciting curriculum, ensuring that children develop a love of learning and that their individual needs are met. Through exciting educational visits, high-quality sports and PE provision, exploration of music and the arts and an innovative approach to computing and technology, all with specialist teachers, we believe that we provide all of our children with the enthusiasm and the resilience to succeed.

We have an amazing team of dedicated teachers and support staff, who act as exemplary role models, educating and nurturing each child. Our school ethos, written by the children, staff, Governors, parents and carers, encapsulates what it means to be at Monkseaton Middle School.

We have a unique pastoral system at Monkseaton Middle School, where we have a dedicated, full time member of staff to support our children’s wellbeing. In addition, our ‘Room 10’ Learning Support Provision enables children to have a little extra help when they need someone to talk to or when they need additional support in their learning. As a child said recently “It’s very easy to say how you feel here.”

I hope that our website gives you as much information as possible about our school, the staff and the many activities that our children enjoy through our curriculum and our extra-curricular activities.
