On 14th December, parents and pupils huddled into the school hall on a cold December night to hear the pupils’ annual Christmas concert. Performances were heard from the steel pan groups, choir, brass and violin and keyboard groups. The choir delighted as always with many Christmas classics, including outstanding solos and duets from Abbie Taylor (Year 6), Katie Macdonald (Year 6), Sophia Hunt (Year 7) and Elize Hornby (Year 7). The steel pan groups dazzled with their joyful renditions of ‘Merry Christmas Everybody’ and ‘All I want for Christmas’. Frances Bell (Year 8) and Daire Treumann (Year 8) led the way triumphantly with their brass instruments, enhancing the festive feel of the concert. Lastly, the violin and keyboard combinations were sparkling and included a 10 person ensemble performance of ‘Little Donkey’, accompanied by their teacher, Mr D. Morris. Special recognition must go to Charlotte Clay (Year 7) who performed a total of two solos, aptly accompanied by Robyn Arrel (Year 7) on the keyboard. Gabriel Bales (Year 7) also played a delightful performance of ‘O, Christmas Tree’ on the keyboard and Kayleigh Reid (Year 8) charmed all with her performance of ‘Snowdrops’. A perfect start to the Christmas season!
