Girls Rugby – Champion Schools Competition

On Tuesday 10th February 2015 the Year 8 girls were back in action in the Champion Schools local round of the competition. After last year’s success of reaching the finals and finishing 5th, the girls were up for the fight of defending their title.

Similar to last year, the game against Seaton Sluice was the game to watch and had we have been able to hold out the last attack of the game, we would have finished round 1 on top of the table.

MMS 32 v 0 Churchill
MMS 20 v 4 Whytrig
MMS 8 v 8 Marden Bridge
MMS 8 v 8 Seaton Sluice

At the end of the first round of fixtures, the team currently sits second in the group. With the return of some of the girls who were missing, the girls can hopefully reach the next round.

The next round will be held at Monkseaton Middle School on the 3rd March.
