Chris Tomlinson, Olympic Athlete, Visits School

We were lucky to receive a visit from Chris Tomlinson today.

Chris is the current British Indoor and Outdoor record holder in the long jump. With over 16 years of athletics experience competing in the long and triple jump as a junior with international honours, he has competed in two Olympic Games, Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008.

Chris spent the whole day at our school and delivered master classes on how to complete the long jump. He also spoke to the school about the challenges he faced along the journey towards his success in this sport. He had to show peresverance and the need to be resilient and to keep on trying in order to succeed.

The day concluded with a whole school assembly.

Our Girls rugby team did not come first at their Liverpool tournament they are however recognised as the fifth best girls rugby team for their age group nationally. The girls were thrilled to receive their medals and award plate from Chris.
